EU-Japan Region-to-Region Innovation Cooperation
Second Exchange Meeting of EU Regions and Japanese Prefectures

EU-JAPAN REGION-TO-REGION AND CLUSTER-TO-CLUSTER INDUSTRIAL & INNOVATION COOPERATION (IURC JAPAN)

The EU-Japan Region-to-Region Innovation Cooperation is a project of the European Union managed by the Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) and the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) of the European Commission, and implemented in cooperation with the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). Its overall aim is to contribute to sustainable urban development and innovation cooperation between the EU and Japan in line with the external dimension of “Europe 2020.” The project will be implemented until November 2023.

The Project started its activities between EU regions and Japanese prefectures after the first exchange meeting held in July 2022. The project will offer peer-level information sharing by study visits and seminars with a focus on selected thematic areas of regional innovation and competitiveness policies such as green transition, industrial transformation and demographic transition.

Between 13th to 19th November 2022 the study visits of six EU regions to five Japanese prefectures will be taking place.

Taking this opportunity, the Second Exchange Meeting will be organised to inspire new ideas for region-to-region cooperation based on the meetings and site visits conducted by the EU regions in Japan.

The event will take place on the 18th of November 2022 between 16:00-18:00 JST and 8:00-10:00 CEST.
