EU-Japan Region-to-Region Innovation Cooperation
First Exchange Meeting of EU Regions and Japanese Prefectures

EU-JAPAN REGION-TO-REGION AND CLUSTER-TO-CLUSTER INDUSTRIAL & INNOVATION COOPERATION (IURC JAPAN)

The EU-Japan Region-to-Region Innovation Cooperation is a project of the European Union managed by the Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) and the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) of the European Commission, and implemented in cooperation with the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). Its overall aim is to contribute to sustainable urban development and innovation cooperation between the EU and Japan in line with the external dimension of “Europe 2020.” The project will be implemented until November 2023.

The objective of the project is to support European Regions and Japanese Prefectures to exchange best practices and knowledge to improve and to internationalise their respective regional innovation strategies while promoting international value chains.

On the 13th of July 2022 the First Exchange Meeting EU-Japan will be organised by online. The meeting will provide opportunities for EU regions and Japanese prefectures to meet together, exchange information and ideas and try to find partners to cooperate. The event will take place between 9:00-10:30 CEST and 16:00-17:30 JST.

日欧地域間イノベーション協力は、欧州委員会外交政策手段局（FPI）および地域・都市政策総局（DG REGIO）が、日本の国土交通省と協力して実施する欧州連合（EU）のプロジェクトです。その目的は、「欧州2020」の対外的方針に従い、持続可能な都市開発とイノベーションのために、EUの重要なパートナーである国々・地域との協力に寄与することです。プロジェクトの実施期間は2023年11月までです。

このプロジェクトは、欧州の地域と日本の都道府県を選び、互いの優れた実践経験と知識を交換しあうことにより、地域におけるイノベーション戦略を向上させ、国際的なバリューチェーンを通した互いの結びつきを強化することを目指します。

2022年7月13日、第1回目の日欧交流会議が開催されます。この会合は、欧州の地域と日本の府県が一堂に会して情報やアイデアを交換し、協力するパートナーを見つける機会を提供するものです。開催時間は16:00 – 17:30（日本時間）、9:00 – 10:30（中央ヨーロッパ夏時間）で、オンラインで開催されます。
