The President of EPRD – Mr. Tadeusz Pęczek, appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Finland.

On November 13 at the Bishops’ Palace in Kielce a ceremony was held, during which Ms. Hanna Lehtinen, Finnish Ambassador in Poland, handed credentials and seals of the Consulate of the Republic of Finland to the newly appointed Honorary Consul. The ceremony was attended by Members of Parliament, senators, representatives of local government, university authorities, business people and NGOs.

The establishment of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Finland in Kielce is the culmination of 10 years of interregional cooperation of the świętokrzyskie province with the Central Region of Finland initiated by Mr. Pęczek in 2003. The established contacts have enabled our region to benefit from the rich experience that Finland has in innovation, education and especially vocational and education and training.

Mr. Pęczek as the Honorary Consul will be responsible for providing information and advisory services to Finnish citizens and other foreigners permanently residing in the Republic of Finland who are staying in the świętokrzyskie province. Moreover, the newly appointed Honorary Consul will promote and facilitate trade and economic relations between Finland and Poland.

The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Finland has its office in the premises of EPRD Biuro Polityki Gospodarczej i Rozwoju Regionalnego located in Kielce, at 36A Szkolna Street.
