We are glad to announce that our project “Development Education and Awareness Raising (DEAR) Support Team”, implemented since the beginning of 2015, has been extended for two more years until January 2021.
According to the Eurobarometer report of 2018 ‘EU citizens and development cooperation’, almost 9 in 10 respondents think it is important to help people in developing countries and this rate has remained stable since 2015. Also, three quarters of respondents in each Member State think this way.
In this context, the EU Development Education and Awareness Raising (DEAR) Programme enhances European citizens’ understanding, skills and critical engagement regarding development and the issues that affect it. Among others, the DEAR Programme tackles global issues, such as climate change, and raises awareness on current issues, such as migration, in support of the European Fundamental Values.
Over the next two years under the DEAR Support Team project we will be assisting the European Commission in the implementation of the DEAR Programme implemented by Civil Society Organisations and Local Authorities in Europe.
