A presentation of the IPA Component IV Project “Implementation of New Curricula” was held on Tuesday, 8 June 2010. The project is implemented by the EPRD-led consortium. The main beneficiary and project partner is the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and the implementation started in April 2010 and will last until October 2011.
Around 85 representatives of various government and public institutions, educational institutions, Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia, EPRD Ltd., industry representatives, trade unions and other projects funded by the European Union, were welcomed by Ms Vesna Hrvoj-Šic, Director of Directorate for Secondary Education of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports (MoSES) and Mr. Ivan Šutalo, Director of the Agency for Vocational Education and Training (AVET).
The welcome address was followed by a presentation by Mr Vlado Prskalo, principal of VET school Matija Antun Reljković Slavonski Brod who pointed out the benefits, outcomes and improvements achieved by his school by utilising innovative practices and possibilities of EU financing in vocational education and training (VET). This presentation was followed by Mr Krunoslav Nemčić, project manager of the beneficiary institution, who addressed the role of innovation in VET as well as the definitions of innovations desirable in current and future developments.
