On 20 April EPRD experts implementing the project “University Education and Employability in Serbia: A Study to Build Graduate Conversion Systems to Meet the Needs of the Economy” in Lot 9 organised a seminar where the findings of the study to major stakeholders and the EAR were presented. The seminar was organised in the premises of the University of Belgrade.
The introductory speech was delivered by Mr Bernard O’Sullivan, EAR Task Manager, who presented the value of European Union financial support to be provided to Serbia in coming years. He emphasized the fact that EU funding makes no impact without beneficiary commitment so this is important to put EU funds to work on Serbian national priorities. Mr O’Sullivan emphasized also the fact that there is no single absolute model to use EU funding in the most effective way. The Team Leader presented the study methodology, scope and results which have been taken into account in drafting Terms of Reference for Technical Assistance project to support the roll out the graduate conversion scheme.
Having in aim showing diverse point of views related to project subject, the experts invited representatives of various institutions to contribute. Hence, the presentations were also given by:
– Ms Jadranka Dimov, Director of the Centre for Projects and International Cooperation of National Employment Service;
– Mr Stefan Dukiandjiev, Tempus Coordinator in Serbia;
– representatives of Students’ Union;
– representative of Academic Alternative Network – Centre for Education Policy;
– representative of National Bank of Serbia as major employer;
– representative of Career Development Centre of the University of Belgrade.
The seminar met large response of the parties involved in the study area and gathered over 40 participants (including EPRD International Department’s representative) who displayed their great interest in the subject matter.
