Since the October 2009 EPRD is implementing the Technical Assistance to the NAO Office in Belize. In the frame on this project – EPRD, the National Authorizing Office, within the Ministry of Economic Development, Commerce Industry and Consumer Protection, in collaboration with the EU Delegation office in Belize organized a EU day Football Tournament  on Saturday 8th May
at the FFB in Belmopan to commemorate the 53rd Anniversary of the signing of the treaty of Rome, which formed the basis of the current European Union.

The EU day activities also highlighted importance of Partnership and impact of development cooperation between Belize
and the European Union which is the largest Donor to Belize in terms of Development Cooperation Assistance with projects in the major sectors of the economy and throughout the entire country.

A special mixed football gala was held on Saturday morning at the FFB in Belmopan, 8th May 2010 involving four teams.

• Banana Support Programme (BSP)

• Belize Accompanying Measures for Sugar (BAMS)

The EU Trophy which jointly was presented by Mrs. Yvonne Hyde NAO and Mr. Cosimo Lamberti-Fossatti, Head of the EU Technical Office in Belize, was won by the Banana Support Programme team. Congratulations!
