The subject matter of the study entailed the analysis of the effectiveness of the scheme for setting up a limited company responsible for the Skarzysko economic zone (SSG Ltd Company). The SSG Company was to be responsible for the management of the area assigned to the economic zone by resolutions, No 6/60/2000 27th June 2000r and No 7/56/2001 30th August 20001 passed by the Skarżyska-Kamienna town council and aimed at inaugurating the Skarżyska-Kamienna economic zone. The SSG Ltd Company was also expected to direct its activities at: · Creating conditions for attracting investors to the SSG · Preparation of applications for aid resources from the EU and other applicable sources · Providing measures for transfer of new technology The main aim of the initiative was a wide ranging business development scheme for the area embraced by investment under the technical infrastructure assignment for the economic zone and framework of measures aimed at the “Creation of an institutional infrastructure” for: supporting enterprise initiatives, encouraging economic development by facilitating transfer of technology, acquisition of know how and absorption of innovation into the economy - and as such, embraced in the Voivodship contract signed between the Council of Ministers and the Swiętokrzyski Self Government on the 19th June 2001. The investment was planned and designed to contribute towards realisation of the prerequisite goal of “Stepping up of urbanisation, including the restructuring of the base of the economy and increasing innovativeness in the Voivodship” as outlined in the strategic plan for the Swiętokrzyski Voivodship The project fulfilled all the aims and priorities of the national programme on increasing innovativeness in Poland up to the year 2006.
