European Commission
he project aims to support the European Commission in conducting a gap analysis, needs assessment, and formulating recommendations for the future programming of EU cooperation in the field of international cultural relations with the Southern Neighbourhood. These efforts take into account the worsening situation in the region and focus on assessing existing and potential new approaches and instruments to effectively support international cultural cooperation. A key component of the project is the analysis of the opportunity and feasibility of implementing a Team Europe Approach as a tool for more effective collaboration. The project’s global objective is to map current trends in the cultural sector in the Southern Neighbourhood countries, analyze the existing donor support for international cultural cooperation, identify gaps and needs, and provide recommendations to the Contracting Authority for designing future actions in this domain. This includes identifying key trends and challenges in the cultural sector in the region, evaluating current mechanisms supporting international cultural cooperation, and proposing recommendations for improving existing or developing new support instruments, including assessing the potential for applying the Team Europe Approach. The project will not only provide a diagnosis of the current situation but also offer strategic guidance to the European Commission to enable more effective programming of actions in the area of cultural relations with the Southern Neighbourhood.
