The aim of this project is to deploy one technical expert in the PAVM Secretariat to work on the PAVM work streams to be jointly decided with Africa CDC. The PAVM Secretariat will play the crucial role of managing the day to day activities related to the coordination and implementation of the PAVM Framework for Action. In particular, facilitating the agenda setting and coordination role of the AU/Africa CDC. The expert will help to prepare further EC support. The project will support the enhancement of the agenda setting and coordination role of the AU/Africa CDC in the operationalization of the PAVM Framework for Action. The technical expert will deliver on the following deliverables in line with specific agreed task with the Secretariat: o Contribute to operationalize the continental strategy to guide national pharmaceutical strategies and plans, to develop a scalable and sustainable vaccine manufacturing industry by defining priority diseases, platforms, and value chain steps to reach the 60 percent ambition in 20 years. - Support the advancement of the broader access to medicines, diagnostics and health technologies agenda. - Provide support to implementation of specific initiatives that are coordinated and steer by the PAVM Secretariat. - Provide support to countries to develop their individual projects locally and support national projects when applicable, in partnership with local and global stakeholders, as requested by PAVM/ACDC and in agreement with INTPA G4 and EUD to AU. - Provide liaising function on the Secretariat side with EU Delegation to the African Union and DG INTPA for the formulation and implementation of the Team Europe Initiative on local manufacturing and access to vaccines, medicines and health technologies in Africa (MAV+). EPRD will be implementing this project from June 2022 to June 2023.
