The Project was prepared from the point of view of co-financing under the Integrated regional Development Programme scheme, priority 3 ‘regional Development’ (Activity 3.3 ‘Degraded Urban, Post-industrial and Post-military Areas’, Sub-activity 3.3.1 ‘Urban Areas Revitalisation’) the goal of which is to aid the local areas restructurisation process by support-ing local projects of technical infrastructure, and tourist / social infrastructure as well as infra-structure for economic activities development and revitalisation of degraded urban areas. The subject of the Project was modernisation and re-construction of two sections of Sienkiewicza Street, Kielce: from Żelazna Street crossing to Paderewskiego Street crossing and from Duża Street crossing to Moniuszki Square. The Project includes: re-construction of 738 m of the street with both-side walkways (some 14,700 m2 of the pavement surface), complete replacement of the accompanying infrastructure (some 1,390 m of water mains and house connections, 1,039 m of sewage drains, 1,990 m of rainwater system with 146.5 m of linear drains, 136.5 m of gas main, 4,789 m of LV an MV power supply mains, 3,085 m of street lights powers supply cables, 99 pcs of street lanterns and lighting posts, 3 pcs of visual infor-mation posts) and planting of 1,600 trees and shrubs. The aim of the Project is to restore and animate strict downtown of the city by improving socio-economic, functional and spatial attractiveness of Sienkiewicza Street making main axis of the architectonic layout listed in the register of monuments.
