In pursuance of the requirements determined by the act dated on 7 July 1994 about the spatial planning, the main objective of the elaboration of conditions and directions of spatial planning in the study is to define the spatial policy of the gmina in the long term. According to the administrative division the gmina of Sitkówka Nowiny belongs to the Kielce poviat in Świętokrzyskie voivodoship The gmina is situated 12 km south of Kielce. In the east-west direction the length of the gmina is 13 km. But on the north-south it is 16 km wide. The whole area of Sitkówka Nowiny has about 46 km2. The residence of the gmina’s authorities is Sitkówka. The administration unit is divided into 6 rural communities. According to the physical division of the voivodoship elaborated by J. Kondracki the gmina of Sitkówka Nowiny belongs to mezoregion Góry Świętokrzyskie (makroregion Kielce Upland). From the north to the south runs the international road no 7 (E-77) Gdańsk – Warszawa – Kielce – Kraków – Chyżne, and voivodship road no 762 Kielce – Chęciny -Małogoszcz
