The key aim of the study is to examine the EU 28 education and training framework for tourism and to assess whether it is fit for purpose in providing the necessary labour market skills for employers currently and in light of future anticipated market developments. In doing so, the education and training framework and qualifications will be performance assessed against key criteria in the context of the current key occupations in the sector. On this basis, gaps in skills provision will be identified and good practice will be highlighted. EPRD is responsible for development of a country fiche for EU 8 Member State describing and analysing the (public and private) educational systems for tourism (from school education to academic, professional and vocational education), and its link/cooperation with the industry.
