In pursuance of the requirements determined by the act dated on 7 July 1994 about the spatial planning, the main objective of the elaboration of conditions and directions of spatial planning in the study is to define the spatial policy of the gmina in the long term. The gmina of Ożarów is situated in the east part of the Świętokrzyskie voivodship, on the territory of Przedórze Iłzeckie. The premises of the gmina of Ożarów’s authorities is situated 40 km north of Tarnobrzeg and 80 km east of Kielce – the capital of the Świętokrzyskie voivodship. The area of the gmina is T-shaped. From the north to the south the area of Ożarów is 18 km long but from the west to the east it is between 3 and 17 km wide. The territory of the gmina takes up the area of about 183,29 km2 and its population reaches 13.000 inhabitants. According to the administrative division the gmina of Ożarów is the part of the Opatowski poviat in Świetokrzyskie voivodship. From the east it is bordering on lubelskie voivodship. Via the gmina’s territory runs the road no 74 which links Skarżysko Kamienna with Rozwadów. The gmina Ożarów encompasses town and the gmina of Ożarów. On its territory there is a municipal and industry centre. The population of the gmina of Ożarów amounts to 13.000 inhabitants, including 5.500 inhabitants who live in Ożarów town and about 7.500 who live in Gmina communities. Considering the quantity of inhabitants the gmina of Ożarów is a medium-sized gmina among others municipal / rural gminas in the voivodship
