Support to the Development of Programme Based Budgeting for the Education Sector in Selected Governorates in Egypt

The global objective is to improve public finance management and accountability in the education sector through a stronger performance oriented planning and budgeting structure. The specific objective is to contribute to the capacity development of the technical structures in the Governorates of Fayoum, Ismailia, Luxor and Cairo, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance dealing with sector policy planning and budgeting, helping them develop Programme Based Budgeting at Governorate level, and supporting the MoE in its update of a Medium Term Expenditure Framework in the Education Sector.
