The objective of the Country Strategy and Programme 2007-2013 for Mongolia is poverty alleviation and income diversification in rural areas for steady income generation. Consistent with these objectives, future EC cooperation should support Mongolia in its transition and foster sustainable development through vocational education, training and capacity building. The overall objective of the proposed action is to contribute towards poverty alleviation through well trained and demand driven work force, with special focus to assisting the Government of Mongolia in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. The main objective of the Identification Mission is to prepare a feasibility study on a potential future EU funded TVET project in Mongolia. In order to do so the mission will: - Assess and analyse the prevailing situation of the TVET sector in Mongolia; - Identify appropriate interventions; and - Explore possible funding options to the benefit of this sector.
