Project description:

The Netherlands Antilles, previously known as the Netherlands West Indies consists of two groups of islands in the Caribbean Sea: Curaçao and Bonaire, just off the Venezuelan coast, and Sint Eustatius, Saba and Sint Maarten, located south east of the Virgin Islands. The islands form an autonomous part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The global objective of the project is to contribute to the strengthening of the integration of young people into the economic development and the socio-cultural fabric of the country, with a particular emphasis on the 16-24 year old group. The specific objective is to support the efforts of the Central Government of the NEA and the Governments of the five island territories to: - Formulate and implement the national youth integrated strategy, the Netherlands Antilles Youth Development Programme (NAYDP); and - Provide the targeted youth group (the most vulnerable and inactive) with viable training and business opportunities.
